How To: Sleek Hair

Recently I have had a new obsession, which is sleeking my hair. I couldn't tell you why, but I LOVE IT. If you're having a bad hair day, sleek it. If you're in a hurry and your hair is still wet, sleek it. All around it is so cute, and makes any outfit seem 10x more put together. So today is all about sleek hair and some of my favorite products and what outfits look best with this hair style.

First, we have the products, which is kind of a lot. To start it out, you need a good solid brush. Not just any brush, but one that is going to make it easy for you to pull up all those stray hairs because this hair is not moving. I recommend a brush with a wider base. This will pick up and smooth more hair at one time.

Next up is the holy grail of sleek hair, and that is some type of gel or wax. Personally, I use the wax sticks from amazon. I absolutely love them! I also have been wanting to buy the dae hair style cream, but I have not gotten the chance to yet. I have heard nothing but great reviews from both.

So, once you have a large brush and some type of styling cream, you need another brush. This brush is used to smooth everything out and remove any bumps. Bumps are not allowed, unless you're into that look, then go right ahead.

Once you have these 3 products, along with a rubber band, you can achieve the sleek bun/pony tail.

What types of outfits or occasions can I wear the sleek hair trend?

Honestly, that is completely up to you. I love to sleek my hair for fancy events when wearing a higher neck top or dress. When your hair is sleeked back, it shows off your other features that people might not tend to notice while your hair is down. Another typical staple is when working out or after working out. If your hair is dirty (and its not hair wash day) then sleek it up. All around this is a simple hair style. It is a popular trend, but I will continue to be wearing this look even if fades out over time.
