Class Fits & Must Haves

During my elementary, junior high and high school days, I was required to wear a school uniform everyday. My school also had a dress code that was strictly enforced. Now that I am in college, I have the freedom to wear whatever I want to class each day. With this change, it brings pros and cons. It is nice on a cold day to wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt and not be judged in the slightest. Some days are so hot that simply walking out of the dorm will make you sweat! I quickly realized that I did not have as many clothes for class as I thought I did. This post will show y’all everyday college attire and helpful class materials that I recommend keeping in your backpack.

Ok, so in all honesty it does not matter what you wear to class, as long as you are comfortable. I do have one thing I recommend, and will ALWAYS tell people: LAYER your clothes! Every classroom temperature is different. Walking to class in the morning, it's cold, and by the time you get out it might be burning up. Honestly, you can never count on the temperature. Layering is the best way to go along with full coverage. No one needs to be the person with their facilities out in class (if you know what I mean). It is always best to be comfortable, but please wear semi-appropriate clothes to class. Some of my favorites are Lululemon, Gold Hinge, and a sweatshirt to pair. I promise you, being uncomfortable, cold, or hot in class is quite literally the worst! So the best way to prevent this is to start with what you are wearing.

Along with clothes, shoes are a big deal when it comes to going to class. Keep in mind, you are walking everywhere! I honestly don’t think I have ever walked as much as I do on this school campus. Shoes are very important! Tennis shoes are my favorite, and the brand I wear is Hokas. I also love On Clouds. Both of these are great options. I will sometimes wear slippers or Uggs in the winter. They are so comfortable when it’s cold outside. Rain boots are nice to have as well, simply because we live in MS, and when it rains…it pours! Overall, cute shoes are fun, but save those for parties.

So what do you need for the classroom?Honestly, not much at all. Here is a list of everything I keep in my backpack: a planner, notebook (with college ruled paper), computer, one binder/paper holder, chapstick, hair tie, and water. That literally is it. Very simple and very empty. You will learn that just about everything is online, and you rarely get papers or handouts during class…at least as a business major.
